Staff Profiles

Our staff members include highly skilled physical therapists, pilates and fitness trainers, and massage therapists. Each staff member has undergone a rigorous on-site residency program, and offers significant performing arts, teaching, and fitness experience. Our team is dedicated to clinical excellence, professional development, and clinical research. Body Dynamics, Inc. requires and supports ongoing continuing education in each of our respective fields. Holly Kurtzman, DPT, CPT: Holly joined Body Dynamics, Inc. in the summer of 2009 following her graduation from the Doctor of Physical Therapy at Columbia University with an emphasis on orthopedics.  Holly also earned her personal trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine while in New York.  Prior to her New York experience, Holly received her bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University in 2006.  Other than Holly’s particular interest in orthopedics, she also has a desire to pursue the women’s health specialty as she performed her doctoral research in developing a module for the basic musculoskeletal examination of the pregnant client.  She is currently pursuing additional education and training in order to better serve this particular patient population. Sonia DeVille Cronmiller, MFA: Holds a MFA from Florida State University in Dance, BFA from University of Southwestern Louisiana in Dance and AA in Business Administration. She is an ACSM Certified Health Fitness Instructor, certified Polestar-Pilates Trainer and certified Gravity Training Instructor. Since 2000 she has been on staff at Body Dynamics, Inc., in Arlington, VA and specializes in training and rehabilitation for performing artists. Kim Fischer-Key, CMT, NMR Therapist: Kim is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist specializing in chronic pain clients, finding and treating the relationship between posture and the development of pain and injury.  She uses assessment tools related to posture, cranial facial work, including TMJ, and visceral massage. She graduated from the Institute of Conscious Bodywork in Northern California with a certification in Neuromuscular Reprogramming Therapy.  After moving to DC in 2006, she pursued a Posturelogy Certification from St. John’s Neurosomatic Educators and is the first American to attend the International Posture Association Conference in Paris, France. Kim has been a clinic instructor at PMTI in DC and NMTI in VA and is interested in creating partnerships between schools and Body Dynamics' Massage Intern Program to foster higher education for massage therapists interested in a clinical, integrated work environment. Jason Grandeo, DPT, OCS: Jason joined Body Dynamics Inc. in 2003.  He is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in August of 2008. He received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Drexel University in 2001. In addition to rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries, Jason has been involved in several services at BDI including co-directing the wellness program at The Washington Ballet, evaluating, treating, and providing lectures to local runners and running groups, teaching in our group class setting, and providing wellness training for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis. Jason is also a Titleist Performance Institute certified golf fitness instructor and he is directing our off-site industrial clinic at Republic National Distributing Center in Jessup, Maryland.   Jason is an adjunct faculty member at The George Washington University where he teaches in their physical therapy program.  He is currently attaining further education in manual therapy through the University of St. Augustine.

Amy Iadarola, MA, Certified Rolfer, Massage Therapist, Certified Polestar® Pilates Practitioner: Amy is Nationally Certified in Massage Therapy and certified in Rolfing by the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado. She specializes in Structural Integration, Myofascial Release, and Deep Tissue massage and has particular experience working with people living with chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Myofascial pain, Multiple Sclerosis, and chronic back and neck pain. Amy is also a certified Pilates instructor and has taught Pilates, stretch, and dance conditioning at Body Dynamics and Universal Ballet Academy. She brings 25 years’ experience in dance and 15 years’ experience in public health.

Ausra Kaminskas, M.Ac, L.Ac - Acupuncturist: Ausra has extensive experience in Eastern traditional medicine and acupuncture, and also in modern medicine.  Ausra has been practicing acupuncture for the last six years in the Washington, D.C. area. A graduate of The New England School of Acupuncture in Boston, Massachusetts, she is a diplomat of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice acupuncture in the District of Columbia and Virginia. Suzanne Koucheravy: Suzanne received her BS in Theater/Dance and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kansas State University. Since 2003, she has been a faculty member of the Academy of Classical Acting through George Washington University teaching stretch and conditioning, and an adjunct professor at George Mason University Dance Department teaching ballet, Methods of Teaching Dance, and Methods of Teaching Creative Movement. Suzanne has taught extensively throughout the area to include the Maryland Youth Ballet, the Washington Ballet, and the George Washington University developing curriculum for pre professional dancers as well as elite athletes. She has performed with DC Dance Theater, the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group, the Classical Ballet of New Jersey, Ballet Tacoma and the Ballet Royal. After more than 25 years of teaching and performing dance, she joined the staff at Body Dynamics as a certified pilates mat practitioner and personal trainer in 2006.Email Suzanne.

   

Lauren Proctor, DPT: Lauren received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University in May 2009.  She attended The University of Tennessee where she graduated with a BS in Exercise Science in 2002.  While at The University of Tennessee, Lauren played collegiate volleyball for the Volunteers and also was a student athletic trainer where she had the opportunity to work with a number of athletes participating in softball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, crew, and swimming.  In addition to working at BDI, Lauren is also working offsite at Republic National Distribution Center for BDI's Fit For Work program. Ashley Templer, MPT, OCS Certified Polestar® Practitioner: Ashley joined Body Dynamics, Inc. in 2005. Ashley is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and a certified Polestar Pilates Practitioner. She graduated with a masters degree in physical therapy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and has experience treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Ashley trained as a student dancer at The Washington School of Ballet and enjoys her role assisting with physical therapy services for The Washington Ballet. She also has a unique interest in working with injured Irish dancers. As the Training Coordinator for Body Dynamics, Inc., Ashley manages the group and individual fitness programs. Email Ashley.

Christina Vink, ATC - Certified Athletic Trainer: is a certified athletic trainer and Pilates professional who has been with Body Dynamics since 2005.  Christina brings a diverse sports medicine background to Body Dynamics from her work with Division I college athletics, including head student athletic trainer for the University of Northern Colorado varsity women’s soccer, swimming and diving teams, and the men’s and women’s track and field teams.  Christina currently directs the P.Ace™ (Performance = Athletic Competitive Enhancement) Program at BDI, where she develops and implements team and individual athlete training programs to prevent injuries and improve competitive athletic skills.  Christina also manages the training room at The Washington School for Ballet.  In addition to developing and managing team workouts, she trains private clients, and teaches group Pilates and Gravity Training classes at BDI.  Email Christina.

Andrea Watkins, Ph.D., Certified Polestar® Practitioner.Andrea joined the Body Dynamics staff after 30 years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  She is the principal author of Dancing Longer, Dancing Stronger: A Dancer’s Guide to Improving Technique and Preventing Injuries.  In addition to a performance and choreographic career, Andrea lectured on injury prevention for dancers at various universities and dance conferences.  She has been recognized numerous times for distinguished teaching.  Most recently, Andrea developed the Movement for Change Program at BDI, which includes both Mindful Mat and Mindfully Upright courses.  Specialized areas of interest include baby-boomer fitness, chronic pain and osteoporosis.. Leah Stolbach, MPH, RD - Leah is a Registered Dietician with the American Dietetic Association and holds a masters of public health in nutrition from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which is ranked the top public school of public health by U.S. News and World Report. She has experience in the clinical and public health sectors, and spent the past summer at the Pritikin Longevity Center in Florida, working with overweight, diabetic, and hypertensive clients. Her interests are in wellness, prevention and empowering others to make healthy lifestyle choices. She is currently a consultant with Body Dynamics. Email Leah.

 

Regina Carrick - Regina has a Master’s degree in Counseling from The George Washington University and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1995. She has more than six years of Post Graduate training in Bowen family systems theory from The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Washington, DC.  She is the co-founder of The Learning Space, her private practice, in Washington, DC. Regina also works several days per month at The King George Zen Farm in King George, Virginia.  She added Zengar neuorbiofeedback to her practice in 2004.  Neurobiofeedback, or brain wave training, is a form of biofeedback in which an individual learns to better regulate the influences of stress, anxiety and threat on functioning. It provides in the moment, factual information about the electrical patterns that we produce.  Regina combines counseling, family systems coaching and neurofeedback to assist clients to manage emotional, social and physical symptoms, including chronic pain.  Regina joined Body Dynamics in 2006 and works with the PTs, massage and fitness staff by assisting clients to manage the emotional aspects of recovery from short and long term movement or rehabilitation issues.  Email Regina

 

Stephanie Maziejka -Stephanie is a nationally certified massage therapist and a graduate of the National Massage Therapy Institute. Specializations include Deep tissue, Sports Massage, and incorporation of Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy techniques. Stephanie has studied the fundamentals of CranioSacral therapy and utilizes these principles to help the body unwind. She is a certified Infant Massage Instructor and is working to build the women’s health program at Body Dynamics. Stephanie is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in psychology. Her interests concerning the human body are centered on mind-body integration and total wellness. Mark Shepherd, DPT: Mark joined Body Dynamics Inc. in 2010.  He is currently pursuing a fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy through Evidence in Motion.  Mark received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut and a BS in Health Sciences from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  While a PT student, he was the vice president of the Student Assembly of the American Physical Therapy Association along with holding other state and school leadership roles.  Mark has had experiences teaching “Joint Structure and Function” tutorial classes for Sacred Heart’s DPT program.  He currently is involved with BDI’s off-site industrial clinic at Republic National Distributing Center in Jessup, Maryland.  He is interested in pursuing clinical research in orthopedic manual physical therapy.  When Mark is not in the clinic, he enjoys playing the guitar and drums, playing soccer, running, and photography. Jenna Marchitello, DPT:  Jenna joined Body Dynamics, Inc. in the summer of 2011 after completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Diego, California.  While in her last semester, Jenna assisted with the course ‘Musculoskeletal III: Extremity Examination, Evaluation & Intervention.’  Previously, Jenna attended Rutgers University in New Jersey where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a second major in Exercise Science in May of 2008.  She is currently pursuing an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency with Evidence in Motion and will be working to pursue a board certified orthopedic clinical specialty in the upcoming years following completion of the residency.  She has a special interest in physical therapy for dancers and would like to further work in the prevention and management of these injuries.

Andrea Grunberger, DPT: Andrea joined BDI in July 2011, and is currently involved in an orthopedic residency program through Evidence in Motion. Andrea received her BS in Movement Science from the University of Michigan, and went on to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She enjoys treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions as well as treating patients experiencing difficulties with balance and/or dizziness. Andrea is involved with the P.ACE program, which aims to help athlete's improve their speed, agility, power & longevity. She also is pursuing further education in the role of lifestyle choices, including eating habits and exercise, and their affects on long-term health and wellness. Outside of the clinic, Andrea enjoys exploring her new city, working out, and enjoying the outdoors with her dog. Email Andrea.
